Trying to find myself

It's quite something when you post a blog and then forget where you put it. I've found the process of self discovery is something that never ceases. I thought I'd post some pics (because that's what I enjoy) of some recent projects that have been my spare time.

This project is fondly called "Peppermint Patty" because of the chocolate circles. It was done by request and is my first comission (which has been successfully delivered in record time 4 months from fabric purchase to delivery, outstanding for moi). The room that is it's home is painted in a soft sage and soldier blue. The one pre-requisite of the quilt was that somewhere there had to be a soccer ball, so, since peppermint patty didn't look like a soccer ball, I appliqued soccer balls falling down the back. (Found some great soft flannel to make it all cozy).

I discovered a new sport (Quilt wrestling) while machine quilting it on my 1950's Bernina. This was a lot of quilt to roll under my little 6"throat (of my machine of course). In the end, I did win the wrestling match. I found a rythmn in a neat meander.
